Waldir Alves Rodrigues Junior

Possui graduação em Física pela Universidade de São Paulo (1968) e doutorado em Física- Universitá di Torino (1971). Atualmente é professor titular colaborador voluntário da Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Tem experiência na área de Física-Matemática e Matemática, com ênfase em Matemática Aplicada, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: álgebras de Clifford, fibrados de Clifford e Spin-Clifford, fundamentos das teorias da relatividade e mecânica quântica, em particular lógica quântica. Entre outras funções administrativas foi diretor do Instítuto de Matemática, Estatística e Computação Científica da UNICAMP de 1994-1998 e vice-presidente da FUNCAMP (Fundação para o Desenvolvimento da UNICAMP de 1998-2000). Foi "editor in chief" da revista da Springer-Birkhäuser Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras até dezembro de 2015 (e atualmente é emeritus editor) e membro da RANS (Russian Academy of Natural Sciences). Recebeu em 20 de Março de 2012 a prestigiosa medalha de honra da Universidade Paul Sabatier (Toulouse ) por seus trabalhos sobre aplicações de álgebras de Clifford à Física-Matemática. É autor mais de mais de uma centena de artigos e de diversos livros entre eles: The Many Faces of Maxwell, Dirac and Einstein Equations. A Clifford Bundle Approach. Lecture Notes in Physics 722, Springer, Heidelberg, 2007. O livro possui uma segunda edição revista e ampliada e aparece como Lecture Notes in Physisc 922, Springer, Heidelberg, 2016.
